A couple of years ago my family used to have family game night on Wednesdays. Now that the kids are older and are busier, we don't have it as often as we used to. We all still love to play games, well maybe not my husband as much as the rest of us.
MyBlogSpark contacted me about reviewing a new game from Old ElPaso. They provided me with an Old El Paso prize pack. My family loves mexican food and since we also enjoy playing games together, I knew we'd enjoy this game. Although I did face some struggles with the kids. When I told them we were having tacos for supper and that we were going to play a "taco" game, they didn't seem too enthusiastic. Instead they started questioning me about the game: What's the game all about? How long is it going to take? Why are we playing this again?
When we sat down to eat, I revealed the game and the rules. Within a couple of minutes laughter filled our dining room table. I ended up winning the title of El Tacodor but the rest of the family wanted to continue playing until they filled in their whole scoring card. To think that 15 minutes prior to that moment they were trying to get out of playing and here they were asking if they could continue playing.
I truly believe that game night in a household helps bring a family together. It's a great time to connect with your kids, young and old. Overall our family really enjoyed playing El Tacodor. I don't think I ever sang an opera about tacos before.
I took some photos along the way. Unfortunately no one would let me video tape them for this review. If so, you would have heard the laughter and silliness coming from our table.
First, you need to have a host for the game. Someone who will read the challenges. Kendra volunteered for this position.

Next, we needed someone to keep score and AJ took over that position.

One of the games we had to play was walking around the table with a pen or pencil balanced on our head. We all couldn't wait to see how my husband was going to pull that one off as he has no hair. Although, Kendra who has hair, still had her pencil fall from her head. I think all the giggling didn't help with her balance techniques.
